And we support interdisciplinary care that improves your mental and physical health.

TESTIMONIALS

“Working with Rachel was an incredible benefit to my whole family, not just my son. She uses evidence-based concepts but tailors them to the child (and family for that matter!). She took a lot of time learning about our family dynamics and my son's individual needs/characteristics, then created strategies that were realistic for us to follow through. She has a very gifted way of giving parents a different view and approach in regards to parenting. You can tell her intent is genuinely in the best interest of the child. Particularly in a time when children and parents don't have the support network they used to have, Rachel's program brought us back to a workable and hopeful space. I look forward to ongoing sessions with Rachel during the peaks and valleys of parenting!”

FAQs

1. What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy is the only profession that helps people across the lifespan to do the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of daily activities (occupations). Occupational therapists enable people of all ages to live life to its fullest by helping them promote health, and prevent—or live better with—injury, illness, or disability.

Occupational therapists have a holistic perspective, in which the focus is on adapting the environment and/or task to fit the person, and the person is an integral part of the therapy team. It is an evidence-based practice deeply rooted in science.

2. Where is Summit Therapy Solutions located?

Summit Therapy Solutions is an Occupational Therapy Practice in the Lake Tahoe area. We practice occupational therapy in the “right” environment for you and your family. We use space at PTRevolution, located in The Crossing in South Lake Tahoe, your home, or via HIPAA-compliant Telehealth platforms.

3. Why should I bring my Child to Occupational Therapy?

We work with you and your family to enhance your child’s growth and development, promote inclusive environments, strengthen child-family bonds, increase your child’s independence with daily living skills, improve your child’s academic skills, build play and leisure skills, and prepare children and families for “life transitions.”

4. What are the common diagnoses that you treat?

Developmental delays, sensory processing disorders, anxiety, depression, OCD, sleep disorders, ARFID, neuromuscular disorders, Down syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder.

5. What can we expect from an Occupational Therapy treatment session?

Every treatment session is focused on an individualized plan of care that focuses on the priorities, strengths,  and needs of your child and family. We begin with an evaluation, so the occupational therapist can create goals to address the meaningful activities in your life. Treatment sessions are always “activity-based.” We focus on mindfulness, breathing, practicing motor patterns, increasing independence with daily tasks, and managing challenging emotions and behaviors. At the beginning of our work together we establish a plan of care, so you know and understand the path to well-being.
